Move dimensions using drag and drop (Charts)

Note: To arrange dimensions without using drag-and-drop, you can use the Rearrange report dialog. Click Table options / Chart options> Rearrange report, or else select View menu> Table options / Chart options> Rearrange report.

In a table or a preview chart, you can move row or column dimensions to or from the slicer dimension area by dragging and dropping them. Dimension tiles have a textured area for dragging.

Note: Both the rows and the columns must always contain at least one dimension.

• When your mouse cursor is over the textured area of a dimension tile and ready to drag it, the cursor turns into a four-pointed arrow.
• A dragged tile appears as a small, empty tile.
• The tile may contain an arrow pointing up, down, or to the side. Arrows are used for nesting or inserting dimensions.
• When you are ready to drop a dimension tile into the slicer dimension area, the slicer area changes color. This picture shows a table dimension tile ready to be dropped into the slicer area.

  

• If there is already a dimension in the slicer area, you can drop the new dimension on top of it or to its right or its left. If you drop it on top, the dimensions will switch places.

  Arrows show you where the tile will be dropped. For example, this picture shows a dimension tile ready to be dropped on the left-hand side of the Light Conditions dimension.

  

  Note: You cannot move a dimension to the slicer dimension area if doing so would leave less than one dimension on the rows or the columns.
